Right&Above received a request to develop an application for biologists who go out to sea for their research purposes, and needed an easy but reliable way to make and send off their daily reports.
The challenge was to create a user-friendly product to help users generate their reports at the touch of a button, independent of their location.
Since the report building functionality was the main part of requirements, we developed the application generating five types of reports.
To ensure good usability, we created a responsive design. The main technology stack consists of PHP, Laravel MVC framework, MySQL, Android SDK, iOS SDK, AFNetworking, and JSONModel.
Currently, the mobile application runs on both Android and iOS platforms and allows for sending the reports using GPRS, EDGE or Wi-Fi connection. When the system receives a report, it emails the report to the supervisors and sends it off to the designated phones as text messages.
In the end, the project resulted in a functional and easy-to-use application which simplified the connection between our client and its employees.
